Description

The competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act of July 20, 2018, the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended) and the Statute of the University of Wrocław. Employment is part of the Sonata 17 project of the National Science Centre, titled "Searching for the Molecular Mechanism of the Development of the Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy Phenotype." The project manager is Dr. Katarzyna Piekarowicz. The aim of the project is to determine the role of nuclear proteins (lamin A/C, emerin) in the process of myogenesis and the development of muscular dystrophy, using iPSCs differentiated into muscle cells, using transcriptomics, biochemistry, and molecular biology methods.

Requirements

A PhD in biological sciences, obtained no more than 7 years prior to the year of employment in the project[1].
Obtaining a PhD from an institution other than the University of Wrocław or completing at least 10 months of continuous, documented postdoctoral fellowship in a country other than Poland.
At least 5 years of experience in cell culture – preferably in stem or primary cell culture.
Excellent knowledge of molecular and cellular biology.
Experience in cell culture analysis, Western blotting, or fluorescence microscopy, as well as experience working with multiple samples, clones, or lines.
Scientific achievements documented by publications (first author on at least one paper published in an international journal).
Ability to present one's own achievements, confirmed by documented presentations at national or international forums.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Conducting experimental research and analyzing results.
Maintaining reliable documentation of work conducted in accordance with accepted standards.
Daily work in the research laboratory and collaborating harmoniously with other members of the research team.
Preparing reports, publications, and presentations.
Participating in team and department meetings and seminars.
Preparing scientific publications.
Active participation in scientific conferences.
